Exhibition Opening Night...

Red? White? Juice or Mineral Water...grab a glass and follow me...

Janette compared it to being like a wedding...
I said, it's like birth, fear, pain and joy, and for the artist crying in the kitchen because one of her beloved pieces sold, it was like grief!

Deborah Halpern, spoke of a mixture of grief and joy...

John read poetry, he'd written especially for us...

How did I cope with it all...well, deep breaths in the kitchen, the champagne helped, and...
I kept a disassociation from my work all night...I had 250 good reasons to not look at it once. 250 joyful faces...there to support, enjoy, be proud of and be there for us, amazing!!!

Minutes before it all started...

This was wonderful...

So was this...

The buzz was electric...

And our beloved Morning Pictures...Rolling on quietly in the corner...

It was a fantastic night.
The lead up was quite a journey. I had felt uneasy for days prior, mixture of all sorts of emotions. It's a strange feeling I had...like leaving the warm nurturing nest of my art group and jumping into a big open sky. But once the gallery curator steps in and takes charge of the situation, this feeling of letting it all go happens, quite exhilarating to jump over that edge. It was time now to get on and enjoy the precious moments...and I did...and I still am.

Great work, Jo! It sounds like a very touching, special evening.

Congrats on such an exciting turn out. I think I recognize your friend's style from earlier- the tutu on the wall- was she the one with the metal dress in her garden?

Stunning work, rich, juicy, heartfelt, glorious! I can so relate to the tears when a beloved piece was sold; it is a bit like selling your child! I have enjoyed sharing in this effort vicariously, which would only have been better if I could have been there in person. Big Congratulations to you all!

Hi Jo,
I was so lucky to have seen Ro's blog the other day about your gallery showing, and as it was only five minutes away how could I resist...
It was fantastic!!!....sorry I couldn't be there at the opening, but I was so lucky to be there on a quieter day actually, as I had time to absorb and admire each and every lovely sublime piece...I loved all of it, so many pieces of creative subtly and beauty...I awoke this morning seeing burnt silk, rusty tin, braided beading, colours and themes swirling gently in my mind...thank you to all of the artists who exhibited!!!!...
It was such a gift to be able to see it all displayed so wonderfully, deliciously, like a candy store of mixed media waiting to be eaten with the eyes.....xx
